ABSTRACT

Perioperative treatment combined with radical resection is the major approach to cure non-metastatic colon cancer. A precise evaluation and perioperative treatment would probably improve the R0 resection rate, recurrence-free survival and overall survival of colon cancer patients. Recently, individualized treatment is the mainstream due to the development of molecular pathology and multi-disciplinary therapy. The indications and course of perioperative treatment and preoperative neoadjuvant therapy of colon cancer are still in intense discussion. The present review will mainly discuss three topics. Firstly, the various reaction of adjuvant therapy to stage II colon cancer is caused by patients′ heterogeneity. Choosing stratified treatment for these patients according to clinical and molecular pathological features is the future. Secondly, we discuss the adjuvant chemotherapy course for stage III colon cancer according to the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) guideline and the progress of this field. Lastly, we summarize the status and significance of colon cancer neoadjuvant therapy.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the relationship of relative telomere length in cumulus cells(CCs) with oocytes at different mature stages and the outcome of intracytoplasmic sperm injection and embryo transfer (ICSI-ET). Methods Oocyte-cumulus complex samples were collected from 92 patients undergoing ICSI-ET and patients were divided into group A including 55 women≤35 years and group B 37 women>35 years. The embryonic development ability and the result of clinical pregnancy were recorded in different groups. DNA was extracted from CCs and assessed for telomere length by real-time quantitative PCR. Results In ICSI-ET,the relative telomere length of CCs gradually shortened with the age. There was a significantly longer telomere length of CCs in the preg-nant subgroup than that in the non-pregnant subgroup in the two groups(P < 0.05). Conclusion The telomere length of CCs may be associated with the pregnancy outcome in ICSI-ET.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the influence of cryopreservation duration on quality of rozen-thawed embryo and clinical outcome in frozen-thawed transfer cycles. Methods A retrospective study was performed to evaluate the clinical outcomes and quality of rozen-thawed embryo of frozen embryo transfer(FET)cycles includ-ing freezing cycles and vitrification cycles. FET cycles were divided into 4 group acorrding to the storage duration of vitrified embryos:1~6 months group ,7~12 months group ,13~24 months group and ≥ 25 months group. Result There was no significant difference in recovery rate ,clinical pregnancy rate and abortion rate (98.1%, 99.0%,96.8%&95.7%;54.4%,55.4%,49.6%&51.5%;0.7%,8.9%,9.4%&11.1%;P>0.05). The embryos recovery rate and clinical pregnant rate after vitrification were significantly higher than programmed freezing (P<0.05). The blastocyst recovery rate in group A was significantly higher than the cleavage stage embryo recov ery rate in group B(P<0.05). Conclusions Vitrification has better effects on cryopreservation and clinical outcomes. Blastocyst may be the best stage for vitrifying and freezing of embryo.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the phenomenon of monozygotictwin(MZT)in in vitro fertilization/intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection-embryo transfer (IVF/ICSI-ET),and explore possible laboratory-related factors that may contribute to MZT. Methods Patients who transferred single embryo in our center from January 2015 to October 2016,including 1786 fresh embryo transfer cycles and 1710 thawed embryo transfer cycles and 49 preimplantation genetic diagnoses(PGD)cycles, were retrospectively analyzed. Correlation between fresh embryo, embryo freez-ing and thawing, embryo quality, artificial assistant hatching and MZT were analyzed. Results (1)There was no significant difference in the MZT rate between embryo age ,in vitro culturing time and in vitro fertilization mode (P > 0.05).(2)The MZT rate between fresh blastocysts and frozen-thawed blastocysts showed significant differ-ence(0.88%vs. 3.08%,P<0.05).(3)The incidence of MZT was significantly higher in laser hatching than that in mechanical hatching in PGD(25.00% vs. 0.00%,P < 0.05). Conclusion Frozen and assisted incubation of blastocyst are risk factors for MZT.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effective sterilization method of laparoscopic instruments. Methods Using 2 different methods to sterilize the same laparoscopic instruments, and then compared the effects of sterilization. Results The bactericial rate of the 2 methods were both 100%. Conclusion The Huiri sterilizing method only need 40 minutes, which fits the requirement of one by one operation.
